| UP: 42 policemen booked for alleged murder of terror suspect | |

Description: 42 Uttar Pradesh policemen, including some top officers, were booked on Sunday for the alleged murder of Khalid Mujahid, an accused in the serial blasts in the state in 2007. Further, the state government has ordered a CBI probe. Khalid Mujahid, the prime accused in the 2007 serial blasts which rocked courts in Uttar Pradesh died while being escorted to a prison, after a court hearing at Barabanki on Saturday. Reportedly, he fainted on his way back to the prison at Lucknow after a hearing in the court at Faizabad. He is believed to have died enroute when the police van ferrying him was passing through Barabanki. Description: New Delhi, May 15 (ANI): Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt, convicted in a case related to the Mumbai serial blasts in 1993, on Wednesday withdrew his petition to surrender at Yerwada jail. Dutt had filed a petition at the TADA court on Tuesday asking to let him surrender directly at the Yerwada jail in Pune, instead of special TADA court in Mumbai, to which the court was to take its decision today. Dutt stated an apprehension of danger to his life "from vested interests and other fundamentalist groups and organizations". He also said that a large presence of media and fans at the TADA court can risk his security and it could also creates chaos and cause inconvenience to the police and the court. Description: New Delhi, April 26 (ANI): Indian death row prisoner Sarabjit Singh was reportedly attacked on Friday by the jail inmates in Lahore's Kot Lakhpat Jail. Singh is reported to have received severe head injuries in the incident. He has been taken to MA Jinna Hospital for treatment. Prison authorities have not released details of the inmate who attacked Sarabjit. Singh was convicted for his involvement in serial bomb blasts in Lahore and Faisalabad in 1990.
