Description: Jaipur, May 17 (ANI): Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot recently inaugurated the state level function of cheque distribution under the Rajiv Gandhi Vidyarthi Digital Scheme at Government Girls Senior Secondary School in Malviya Nagar. The cheques worth Rs. 6000 were distributed to the students who have secured 2nd to 11th position in the merit list of 8th class in government schools to purchase Tablet PC. Gehlot said that his aim behind this scheme was to make the future generation tech savvy and to create an atmosphere of healthy competition among the students. Gehlot had announced in the budget speech 2013-14 to provide Tablet-PC to 3.5 lakh students in the State. The Chief Minister had also announced that in the second phase of the scheme, laptop of 14 inches will be provided to 1.11 lakh students of the current and the last session. The Chief Minister on this occasion said that the scheme had been introduced to fulfill the dream of the former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi who wanted the country to enter into the 21st century with full preparation so that India could stand in the line of developed countries of the world.
