Description:Neyyattinkara, May 30 (ANI): Speaking over the steepest hike in petrol prices in the country's history, Union Defence minister, AK Antony, has said that the hike was indeed too much, but the petrol prices were decontrolled and hence the right to revise its prices lied with the state-owned oil marketing companies. The petrol prices were raised by 7.50 rupees per litre for the first time in more than six months, in a gesture of fiscal discipline that economists claimed was unlikely to give a significant lift to the embattled rupee.
