Orissa Government introduced Assistant Section Officer. BY : Dipti Ranjan Kanungo.The Orissa State Government has decided to introduce the cadre of Assistant Section Officer and re-designation of cadre of Section Officer ,Level-II and Section Officer level – I as Section Officer and Desk Officer respectively.In the score a resolution has been passed and published vide No-44874 dt 30 September 2008 of the Home department .The resolution has been published by the Additional Secretary to Government, Home Department Sri P K Nanda and copy forwarded to the Director of Printing and Stationary,Orissa, Cuttack to publish the resolution and copy forwarded to the Private Secretary to the Chief Minister, Private Secretaries of all Minister of the stste, Private Secretary to the Chief Secretary, Private Secretaries of all Secretaries to the Government, Private Secretary to the Principal Secretary to the Government ,Private Secretary to the Principal Secretary to the Home Department, Accountant General Orissa, Director of Treasuries, Orissa for information and necessary action in the subsequent memos. Keeping in view of the advancement in Information Technology and emerging complexities in the realm of administration , it is felt necessary to have a paradigm shift in present office procedure and pratcises. To start with , Government of Orissa have decided to initiate structural and functional reform in the secretariat with the objective that the Government process should be e-complianrt and web-enabled . After careful consideration the Government have been pleased to decided that the entry level in the Ministerial Service Cadre in the Orissa Secretariat shall be designated as Assistant Section Officer in the scale of pay of Rs 5000-150-8000. The existing cadre of Junior Assistant and Senior Assistant shall be engaged in this grade. The existing cadre of Section Officer Level-II and Section Officer Level –I shall be designated as Section Officer and Desk Officer espectively. The proposed qualification criteria etc. will be suitabley incorporated in the amendment of relavent service rules. The provision of promotion to the cadre of Junior Assistant and Senior Assistant from other cadre in the secretariat will be suitably formulated to fit the revised structure. This will take immediate effect. This has been concurred by the finance department vide their U.O.R. No. 4340/PSF dt 27.09 .2008.
