Eros International Plc (“Eros”), a major Indian media and entertainment company listed on the Alternative Investment Market of the London Stock Exchange, announced that what is believed to be the first full length Bollywood film, is now available in the UK on the Apple iTunes Video Store with further territory
roll outs over the coming months. This honour goes to Eros’ “Om Shanti Om”, which reached number one in the coveted International Box Office Chart when it was released in cinemas.
Eros Music , Eros’ music label, has been distributing music tracks on the Apple iTunes Music Store for a number of years and these tracks regularly feature in the Top 50 of the iTunes World Music section. Indian film content consumers will now have the option to download film as well as music and it is hoped that the Apple iTunes platform will help introduce a whole new audience to Bollywood films.
Apple iTunes is fast becoming the world’s leading sources for online film downloads. Movies and TV shows purchased or rented from iTunes can be played on a number of devices like Apple’s Macintosh, Windows PCs, the iPhone, some iPod models as well as the Apple TV.
